Here’s my first act as fictional mayor of Malden:
I would push to allow traffic through Malden Square, where the current City Hall stands. This was the biggest mistake ever made in Malden. The lack of traffic flow destroyed Malden Square’s economy. We all know it, let’s fix it. Admit the mistake, let’s move on. Added revenue from successful businesses will pay for some of the costs. There are good properties on Pleasant St. that no one has a reason to drive by, so they go unnoticed and eventually fold. City Hall, bad. Traffic through the best commercial district, good. Location for new city hall/police station TBD.
